We are partnered with the University of Minnesota (UMN). Due to this partnership guest accounts are required to use the University of Minnesota systems like Canvas. However, you will still need a Training Portal account with the MNCWTA to manage, register, and track courses. 


Prerequisites

  • An approved Profile Request from the Training Portal or ainvitation from your supervisor.
  • The email address that you are using to create the University of Minnesota Guest Account must be exactly the same as your Profile Request or invitation (your county/work email).


To create a profile follow the steps in the Creating a Training Portal Profile help article. Once your profile is created continue with the steps below.


Steps to create a new University of Minnesota Guest Account

  1. Go to https://my-account.umn.edu/create-guest-acct.
  2. Enter the same email address that you submitted via your Profile Request or from your Invitation (county/work email).
  3. Enter your personal information.
  4. Create a password using the set requirements (save this information! You will use it every time you login to the Training Portal).
  5. Then select the "SUBMIT" button.

Troubleshooting


Problem: If you received the error “Account already exists” when attempting to create a new University of Minnesota Guest Account. That means at some point you had created a University of Minnesota Guest Account with your current email address. 


Solution: You should try to reset your password. Do not create a new guest account with a different email.
